Paul BIJLEVELD Enschede, The Netherlands Paul Bijleveld is full professor for regional development at Saxion Universities of Applied Sciences. Areas of research are regional innovation policy, academic spin-offs, science parks, labour market studies, monitoring & assessment, and cluster policies. He is an accomplished, Local and Regional Development Expert with +25 years of experience in his field. He has worked for both local government and international consulting companies. Paul has a track record of increasing responsibility in the formulation of local and regional development policies and the implementation of strategic regional development projects and programmes. He has extensive experience with the implementation of complex long term EU-funded projects and programmes. As a former consultant he has advised local and regional authorities in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Malta, the Russian Federation and Slovenia. In Saint Petersburg he was responsible for the development of a regional development strategy to enhance co-operation between the City of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region. Paul studied economic geography at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, and obtained a Masters Degrees in Business Science at the Free University of Brussels and the University of Leuven in Belgium. Matthijs HAMMER Enschede, The Netherlands Matthijs Hammer, senior lecturer and researcher at Saxion University and since 2006, dedicated to the school of Business, Building and Technology. He is also PhD researcher at the Delft University of Technology, faculty of Industrial Engineering Design, Department of Product Innovation Management, researcher of Effectuation, vice president (NL) of the European Council for Small Business & Entrepreneurship and a member of the International Innovation Research Group of Satakunta University. The actual research is on Entrepreneurship Education, reducing Entrepreneurial Failure and talent recognition. Elena ANDREEVA Moscow, Russian Federation Elena Andreyeva has a PhD-degree in Linguistic Science and works as Assistant Professor at the Lomonosov Moscow State University Business School (LMSUBS). In 1979 he founded Van der Meer & van Tilburg, management consultants for innovation and growth. In 1985 he started as part-time professor innovation management at the University of Twente shifting in 2006 to Delft University of Technology. Theodor van der VELDE Enschede, The Netherlands Theodor van der Velde is director of the Saxion institute for Knowledge intensive entrepreneurship and consultant for small and medium sized businesses. He has a background in HRM and corporate finance. Theodor was director of the Saxion Small & Medium sized Business Management Institute and was developer of the award winning Bachelor program in Entrepreneurship.
